Josh is very intelligent for his age to be having these thought processes. Instead of simply accepting how a CD stores information, he is trying to understand it. His excitement excites me.

How different are his comments from an average adult? Most people have no idea how a CD works, their radio or television. It's all magic.

I have not read "Sophie's World" but I heard too much about it. It is a book that mentions how children have great amazement initially about the world we live and how they lose their curiosity as we, adults, do not share and encourage their great interest and passion. This video reminded me that and I am fascinated with how Josh still has that amazement.

Josh is demonstrating the founding principles of inventive minds. He is a questioner and is fascinated by life and how things work. He uses his words to show his minds' process in trying to categorize the function of life and science in all its wonder.

It appears that Josh initiates the development of his own learning by asking some fundamental scientific questions. His inquisitive nature probably will lead him on an expedition to find some of the answers to his questions. By asking more questions, he seems to be finding a correlation between the solutions to the problems he is asking. Ricki helps him to gain more understanding by causing him to probe deeper and ask more questions. Josh can then find abstract ideas to help himself find some answers to those questions that are so "amazing " to him.

The way that Josh speaks is incredible. I know that he has the boyish sound, but he thinks of stuuf that I did not think about at that age. He wonders, "How could a disk hold tiny letters and information? How could a laser read all of the info? " I have not even thought about this at my age.

Sometimes, I take modern inventions for granted...But, Josh doesn't..
